I recently bought this deck, along with the Soul Cats tarot deck, and yes they are two very different decks. I love both equally and for their different purposes. The artwork for this deck is enchanting and beautiful, and as I have followed the artist on social media for a while, this is what initially piqued my interest. This is a tarot of fairy tales and folklore that speaks to one’s own personal magick and monomyth, and in spite of the artwork, is more Grimm’s than Disney. That is, although they are not the main focus, there’s a lot of Fae energy here which I tend to use for shadow work. Some of the names used for the major arcana are different and the minor arcana suits are also named differently, both to suit the folkloric themes. This will probably take me a bit to get used to but within the context of the overarching theme and intent of the deck, it all makes sense. The cards shuffle beautifully and the full colour guidebook is comprehensive in taking you through the journey into this Forest of Enchantment. The sense that I got when I first sat with this deck is that it, like the Fae themselves, expects you to be fully present. I’m really looking forward to working with this deck and seeing where it takes me.
